DONKEYS´S EDEN

When we rescue a mistreated, humiliated and ill animal, his recovery is really difficult. And moreover if he is old, so then his possible adoption is still more complicated. But if they are donkeys... they have an opportunity in the donkeys´ Eden, and that is Lesley Ann and Peter´s Eden. What is true is that this wonderful couple are incapable to deny acceptance to the most mistreated of the donkeys. I don’t know if this is due to the angelic voice of Leonor asking for help, or if their hearts are more generous than they have never imagined, but in reality the nine donkeys they have accepted in their home have truly known paradise next to Lesley Ann and Peter.

For us to know that donkeys are going to be accepted in this home is the best of gifts.

Not only they will recover, but they will have the opportunity to end their life and also to know that all human beings are not equal. In this Eden they forget the mistreatments, the humiliations, the hunger, the illness, and will finally find affection, respect, dignity, and they will sleep every night with their stomach full. They will finally find peace.

After recovering their weight and health at the Retreat (see pictures in the Animal Protection Law article), Pepa and Luna are ready to go to Lesley and Peter's place.

We know for experience that this is not easy at all, to have these animals, and moreover when they are sick, terrified or full of bad habits... to achieve a good cohabitation needs something more than good will. And more when they are donkeys, because they have a strong character, but they are at the same time very funny.
